Dear Sylacauga City Schools Families:
The transportation changes for NLMS students during drop-off/pickup traffic has caused great confusion and concern the last few days. Although changes were discussed with one of our partners (Sylacauga Police Department), a final decision had not been determined at the time information was posted on social media. We apologize for the confusion and feel the need to clarify that at this time NLMS drop-off/pickup traffic will be the same as the 2023-24 school year with no changes for the 2024-25 school year. The safety and security of our students is always top priority. If changes are made in the future, we will communicate those details to all stakeholders.
Thank you for your understanding as we are preparing to have the best school year starting on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.

At the end of May, 5th grade students from Pinecrest were invited to tour NLMS. They were welcomed by NLMS cheerleaders and band, participated in a tour of the building lead by Peer Helper and were able to visit stations in the gym that shared information about our clubs and extracurricular activities. We can’t wait to see you in August!

NLMS students will return their school Chromebooks according to the attached flyer.

NLMS 8th grade students stepped back in time and experienced spectacular horsemanship, amazing swordplay, medieval games of skill and an authentic jousting tournament, all set within the walls of an 11th century-style castle. As the tournament took place, the castle's serfs and wenches served a feast fit for a king!

The Community Conversation Strategic Plan meeting scheduled for today, May 9th, has been rescheduled for May 14th. Please plan to attend and help us prepare for the future.

Join us tonight at B. B. Comer Museum for the annual District Art show from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Come see our talented artist's masterpieces.
