NLMS had an exciting assembly to kick off our Mindset in Motion program spearheaded by Mrs. Steers. Participants had to grow their minds by participating in various challenges. Some of these were hula hoop, dance, Rubik's cube, blindfolded basketball, and cup stacking with upside down glasses on.

Students in Mrs. Reams' 8th Grade Advanced ELA class worked collaboratively to analyze, form inferences, and respond using text evidence to high level "Think and Focus Questions" about the "The Tell-Tale Heart" by Edgar Allan Poe.

In class this week, seventh grade Advanced English students prepared and shared reports about their summer reading selections. Students were to read a novel of their own choosing. Books read reflected a variety of classic and contemporary tales. Students put much thought into their reviews and found a great many stories they loved!

Dear Sylacauga City Schools Families:
The transportation changes for NLMS students during drop-off/pickup traffic has caused great confusion and concern the last few days. Although changes were discussed with one of our partners (Sylacauga Police Department), a final decision had not been determined at the time information was posted on social media. We apologize for the confusion and feel the need to clarify that at this time NLMS drop-off/pickup traffic will be the same as the 2023-24 school year with no changes for the 2024-25 school year. The safety and security of our students is always top priority. If changes are made in the future, we will communicate those details to all stakeholders.
Thank you for your understanding as we are preparing to have the best school year starting on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.
